Another one on the list of Pop Zeus nominees (i call the list "les contendres". no. i don't speak french. is it obvious?) that have been sitting around forever is the Amps "Full On Idle". I have to say that the biggest reason why this song should be on here is because it's one of my favorite songs of all time. Sure, I have lots of favorite songs, but odds are you've heard them all. This one you may have not.

The Amps were Kim Deal's band after the Breeders broke up (the first time). The band featured future Guided By Voices members Nate Farley and Jim Macpherson in its lineup, and were defintiely a Dayton kinda band. In fact, one song from their sole recording, 1995's 'Pacer', featured a song called "I Am Decided", a song that later popped up on Guided By Voices' 'Suitcase 2', a collection of trashed recordings that piled up in Robert Pollard's house over the years. I'm not sure exactly which one wrote it, Deal or Pollard, and I'm too lazy to look it up.

Upon saying that I guess I have to include those songs as well, which made this post about just one song end up being about three songs. More bang for yr buck!
